I never thought I’d be writing about my banner as an introduction to my Website/Blog, but here I am doing just that.  I think my banner needs a few words of explanation to understand how it relates to the World Wide Web. 

First the background is an image of Orion Nebula that repeats three times from left to right.  The reason I choose it, beyond its awesome beauty, is that it’s kind of an otherworldly metaphor for the Word Wide Web, like WWW on steroids.  At least that’s how it formed in my mind’s eye.

I then have images of computer chips, printed circuit boards, and CDs overlaying the background that represents the technology that’s necessary to make the WWW possible.  Just as the technology images permeate Orion Nebula, so does the technology permeate every corner of the world and has done so in a rather short period of time. 

Without this technology I would not have this website and I wouldn’t be encouraging you to become a part of the Internet mainstream no matter the size of your business.  It seems that in today’s business world having a Web presence is not only necessary, but it’s expected of you from your clients/customers.

While many small business owners may have heard the message that Web presence is becoming a necessity they have assumed that it was beyond their limited budget.  The fact is, there is a solution for nearly every budget and I’ve implemented small-scale solutions for under $100. 

Please don’t assume that you can’t afford a Web presence.  Take the time to ask and see if your particular needs can be accommodated with your budget.
